About The Event

Handstands, like may other Gymnastics skills, are never about "what drills do I need to do to learn it". However, many, especially adults, approach this skill from this point of view "Show me the drills so I can practice". Therefore struggling, wasting time, getting disheartened, and developing overuse injuries. Yet, any other approach seems unworthy.

On the other hand, if you want to learn how to play the piano, you don't start with just hitting the keys at random or playing simple tunes in the hope to master the piano. And if I were to suggest that you do so it would sound simply egregious. Because to master the piano we need to learn:

Module 1

1. How and from what it is built.

2. How the structural components interact with each other.

3. What each key sounds like.

Module 2

1. Master our audio perception of melodies we would like to play to determine correctly wich keys, in what sequence, with what timing to produce a sound tune.

In other words, we need to hear the melody we would like to play in a certain right way, otherwise, Broadway will forever be your fantasy.

Module 3

1. Practise. BUT IF and ONLY you got the previous steps done.

If you do all that your chances to learn the piano relatively fast are much greater. Nevertheless, shall you jump right into Module 3 skipping 1 and 2 you will embark on a long long journey of trials and failures riddled with disappointments. Absolutely the same is true for any gymnastics skills including the handstand.

You might say that you know what the handstand looks like and the general ideas of its execution. But do you? You are trying to get the legs up for a handstand - you should not. You are trying to keep the chest in while in the handstand - you should not. You are tiring to press the shoulders out - you should not. You are trying to place the weight onto the fingers - you should not.

Join the class to learn a different approach to skill learning in adults. You can do so much more so much sooner.

All participants will be sent a zoom link to join the class an hour prior to the class.
